The Weekend...through the eyes of a cell phone

Hopefully I don't jinx myself, but I think the storm has passed and I will have a little more time for me and catching up on blog posts, reading my favorite blogs and just life in general. Things aren't going to completely calm yes because....

THE NY RANGERS ARE IN THE STANLEY CUP FINALSS!!!!!!!!!

Holy guac! Talk about stressful times over here. If being insane at work wasn't enough for the last few weeks, coming home to watch the playoff games has aged me about 10 years..100% worth it! This has been 20 years in the making and I am super excited to witness it! Ahh! I don't even know what to say it's so exciting. Hockey in my family, is like the Super Bowl to most grown American men. IT'S HUGE! Wish us luck this week!! :)

After that exciting event Friday I was exhausted! But, like I said things never truly calm down around here. My dad had cut his finger at work and drove himself to the ER in the afternoon. Not the smartest decision but I digress. He ended up with 10 internal and 20 external stitches from the plastic surgeon and has his hand wrapped looking like Captain Hook. Staying humorous in these situations makes them a little easier. Poor guy is out of work for 6 weeks plus physical therapy....basically he is on summer vacation.

Saturday the family headed off to our neighbors wedding! It was beautiful, but aren't all weddings? I seriously am still getting used to the fact that friends I have grown up with are starting to get married! Where the heck does the time go?! I loved spending the time with my family and me and my brother are just fools when there is alcohol and music involved.

The weather this weekend was beautfiul and we refused to stay indoors any longer. Last minute we decided to buy tickets to the Sky Blue FC to watch some women's soccer. We love the USA Women's Team and we always try to see some of the players that are traveling to our are when we can. Last year we actually watched them play Germany in Conneticut which was one of the best games I've seen. Anyway, we were able to watch Hope Solo and Sydney Leroux play from the Seattle Rein. They eneded up winning 3-1 which was pretty cool. I always feel a little strange when the crowd is cheering more for the away team, but thats who we were there to see!

Again, after all this excitment I was exhausted we came home to lay down and find out who was going to be playing our Rangers in the finals. Turns out we are headed to LA on Wednesday to play the Kings after they beat out the Chicago Blackhawks in OT. My nerves are on fire!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  1. Ok...so this will further show you just how clueless I am about hockey...but the playoffs are STILL going on?!!? I feel like it was AGES ago when you posted about the beginning of playoffs. Haha. Anyway, I'm glad your team is still going! AND...I LOVE that dress you wore to the wedding! Super cute!
