Huzzah! Huzzah!

It's funny writing this post for the first time. As I am coming up on my one year blogiversary, I thought about how I just missed blogging about this last year. If you have been here for awhile you might know I am your typical lover of all things fall. As much as I love all four seasons and their festivities, for some reason it seems like during fall we have some fun adventure planned every weekend, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

To start, this past weekend we headed up to the New York Renaissance Faire! This has been one of our fall traditions for the last three years and every year I get more excited to go. Especially this year, since I have been ankles deep in reading Game of Thrones, I couldn't wait to be around Lords and Ladies and all that comes with it. As always we had a great time! My cousin and her friend came with us, she is just as obsessed with medival times as me, and we laughed the entire time! We did get caught in the rain, which put a little damper on the day, but nothing a little beer and a poncho can't fix!
This year, for the first time ever we decided to ride the camel. Normally, not my thing, but peer pressure and all we went for it. It was hyterical and quite interesting all the same. Scratch that off the bucketlist. I love bringing new people with us every year and having them be a part of our little weekend time travel.

We didn't get to see as much as we wanted, because of the weather, but I am still glad we got the chance to go again this year and keeping this tradition alive!
^ Don't mind my "having so much fun in the rain" face!

Anyone else ever been to the faire?

Laughing Cow

Today is Friday! The best day. Actually, that may be Saturday, but Friday is pretty great as well. In light of this fabulous day that has arrived I wanted to kick start the weekend with some funny videos that got me giggling. It is always nice to have a good laugh and after the last week crazy weeks I enjoyed this and though you might too! Happy Friday!! :)

Celebrations!

Well that was a sweet sweet hiatus! Summer was the most fun and probably the fastest thus far. But I plan...plan not promise... on being here a little more often. 8am's and 8pm's use to be my 'me' time to blog and read blogs but between my hectic, crazy, insane work schedule that just hasn't been possible.  Complaining - I am not although it seems that way a bunch lately. I swear I'm not but for some strange reason I feel a tiny need to justify my absence. Or maybe something to look back on when I have a brood of mini's, my job and  pack of wild animals, I can laugh at my former self and say you have no idea what crazy is my friend!
Back to present day - last week was my birthday! WooHooo!! As I mentioned, for the first time ever I had a whole bunch of nothing planned for my big day. When I say this is the first time I ever, I do not lie friends. I am a H.U.G.E. HUGE advocate of celebrating birthdays and I never fail to have something epic planned for mine. Tons of friends, family new and old are always invited to the event and it is always a great time. But this year - nada. Until, we started the weekend off with a birthday dinner with our bestest friends.

We tried a new place call Park West Tavern which was the cutest little place ever with the best food and of course the best drinks! We had such an amazing time together as always but it was so special to start my birthday off with these amazing friends. To top it off, in the middle of conversation our friends Chris realized he had a comp room in Atlantic City and asked if we wanted to go to continue our celebrations. Do you even have to ask?! No plans turned into the best plans ever!! I have been dying to get down to Atlantic City, especially since a few of the hotels were shutting down and it happened perfectly. Sunday morning of Labor Day Weekend we packed up and headed down.

Us girls enjoyed a fabulous massage during the day, courtesy of our boys, mostly because they wanted us away for them to gamble but I was not going to argue with that. Well played boys...well played. After our spa trip we found the boys napping so what else were we supposed to do - drank! Several, more than we should have, jello shots later and some fun flavored drinks with no dinner we were felling the vibe. We headed up to the room to get all dolled up snapped a few pictures and headed out to Revel for their last night evaaaaa.

And that's all I can share with you ;)

Once we came home we had a fabulous dinner with my family and you can never forget the birthday cake. EVERYONE MUST have birthday cake on their birthday.

Birthday Week!

So here we are another year in the books and my birthday is approaching quickly. I cannot belive that my birthday is in one week from today! First off this summer flew, but when I really thought about it, the last few years have seriously flown by. I was discussing birthday with a friend at work yesterday and I couldn't believe that I am turning 26 in a few short days. Okay, okay I know I shouldn't be complaining like it's ... four years from now but still. I think seeing these years fly by is more upsetting than I will feel when I turn 30. I think at that point I will be at a place in my life and be able to embrace it! But right now, this is just not okay. I could remember patiently waiting to turn 21!

A few days before the big 2-1!

Embarrassing moment: As we were discussing birthdays and how disgusting it is that we are getting old, I say to my friend during lunch yesterday, "I feel like I just turned 21 yesterday! How is it that was 5 years ago?! I will be in my late 20s now!!" And then we made faces at each other and stopped to think for a second .. and realized .. and thought for another quick second just in case - I don't remember what I did for my 21st birthday. Sad. Or maybe a success? I could not say because the memory has been lost in the rolodex of college memories in the back of my brain.

This is also the first year that I have NOTHING planned for the big day. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge advocate for celebrating birthdays especially my own. A party or open bar is always planned but this year I just ... it really has snuck up on me and I haven't planned a thing! Celebration suggestions are welcomed! :)

Hopefully something worth sharing comes about so I can tell you all about it!
How did you feel about entering your 'late' 20s?!

Summer Means To Me...

Summer means....

Trying new recipes

Taking day trips

Giving back #blessed

Vacationing at the beach

Spending time outdoors

... Instead of sitting on the computer blogging.

To say I have been missing in action is a silly little joke. I have been missing in action, missing in reading and missing on keeping up with this little world I love so dear. I still can't get over the fact this we are in the second half of August and summer which hasn't really felt anything like summer is dwindling down to an end. The only good part about that is my day of birth is arriving quickly and fall festivities will begin! The last few weeks I have been soaking up the nice weather and late sunsets as much as I can. Spending all day on the computer in an office is enough time wasted not enjoying the great outdoors, so I kind of scrapped blogging after work because....well it's more fun to go to roof top bars on a Tuesday. Duh.

I promise during my absence I have been trying my hardest to keep track of it all to share with you and I double promise it won't all be weekend recaps and nothing of substance! So I hope you haven't forgotten little ole me....I can't blame you if you have though...I've been a terrible bloggy friend.

I'm here. Reading your posts ... and posting. Get ready!!

Weekend Fun

I have to say this past weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in a while. It was completely unplanned, spontaneous and everything you want right smack in the middle of two crazy work weeks. My weekend started a little early with a farewell lunch at work as one of our team members has moved on to another roll outside the company. One of the great things I love about where I work, is they aren't bitter or rude when someone decides to move on with their career. They are so supportive it is truly amazing! After that the afternoon was a blur and I headed up to Soho for some Restaurant Week action! If you don't know what restaurant week is you can browse here and read allll about it. They have it in a bunch of other cities around the country. Basically, you get to dine out at places you wouldn't normally eat at for a set price (lunch and dinner) and enjoy an appetizer, entree and dessert. It's pretty great and we always make a point to take advantage of the deal. Plus it just gives us ANOTHER excuse to eat and drink with friends!
We headed to Mercer Kitchen in Soho and it was delish! Our apps were actually bigger than our entree, but I didn't mind since I was already full! Hence the name, we sat in the restaurant as normal but the kitchen was wide open for us to watch if we wanted to. It was just a different atmosphere to enjoy, and that we did - duh!

Saturday morning we decided to wake up early and head down to the beach for the day. My parents had headed down the night before and since I had no plans it was the best day to do it. The boy, my cousin, my brother and I loaded up the truck and headed down the highway. Unfortunately we got stuck in some serious traffic, but what better way to pass the time than with the license plate game! We were hysterical laughing the entire ride down - we aren't competitive at all. Sarcasm. My brother ended up half in the front seat at one point to see a plate! It definitely make the traffic time move quickly and to top it off I won. :)
Once we finally made it down parking was a nightmare but the beach was a dream. I love laying in the sun chatting with the fam and just enjoying being outside! I am such a summer babe. It stated to get a little cloudy and I think we were getting antsy from sitting for so long we went off to play some mini golf. Again - I swear we are not competitive. Winna Winna Chicken Dinna!!!! Loser had to buy a round of drinks and coincidentally three of us tied and my brother lost by one stroke. Ha! I am still laughing about it. There is something about the little brother and kicking his but that still makes me grin from ear to ear! Never forget I'm the big sister!
We headed over to another beach town to spend some time with my other cousins and my aunts and uncle. Like I said I was planning on spending the day, which turned into drinking all night and not leaving until 8pm Sunday night. I haven't laughed so hard, cried from all the laughs and just enjoyed spending time with family like I did this weekend. It was like we were all 7 years old again and drinking - our parent were good parents I promise. We had races to the ocean, races on the beach walking path - okay we may be a little competitive - and my cousins and I just had the best time together. I can't wait for this week to fly so we can have another weekend just as fun and just as competitive.

Your all going down on mini golf round 2!!

Anyone else hit the beach this weekend??

Kitty Purry

To say the weekend after last was exhausting is an understatement, however it was a blast! A few months ago the boy had begged me if we could go see ..(cough cough) Katy Perry. Sorry babe, your secret is out! He has a thing for her big boobies blue eyes. As the good girlfriend that I am I look for some tickets and happen to find some not so terribly priced floor seats. I mean if the guy has the hots for her the least I could do was give him the perfect opportunity for them to fall in love at first eye sight right? So off we went, July 11 to see his other girlfriend.

Our seats were actually 52469658942 times better than I had thought they were when we first bought them, and now that we were sitting in them I was getting exciting! Her show was actually really entertaining, and it doesn't hurt that I know every single song she sings which always makes for a good time! It was a little strange to be at my first concert where I felt like the old lady in the front rows, but it was well worth it! The only thing that was a little sucky about being so close was that she was either in the center of the stage a little too far away for being able to touch the part of the stage by us, I swear I'm not trying to sound spoiled :) or she was behind us at the end of the catwalk. But I promise down below you can see how close she actually was to us when she strolled on by!

Overall we had a great time, boy was in love for a few hours, but sadly he ended up coming home with me! Ha! Stay tuned for the second half of this party weekend!!

Anyone ever been to a Katy Perry concert before??
